How to register with AIDA for a competition

  1. If you don't have an AIDA account, create one:
Register with AIDA
1b. Make sure to match your AIDA national to your citizenship
Where it says "AIDA ORGANIZATION", choose the one that matches your citizenship. For instance:

  • If you are a US Citizen, choose "AIDA USA".
  • If you are in the US on a greencard or visa, but you are a citizen of China, for instance, choose "AIDA China".
  • If you don't see an AIDA national for your citizenship, choose "AIDA USA" as anyone without their own AIDA national is allowed to be a member of AIDA USA..
2. Or, if you do have an AIDA account already:
Go to your profile at:
https://www.aidainternational.org/my_profile
and check that your "Membership" (eg, AIDA USA) matches your "Citizenship" (eg, United States). If your Membership is none, or different to your citizenship, change it to match.

If you are looking at your profile and don't see "Membership", you might be on the education sub-site:
https://eos.aidainternational.org/
rather than the main site. Go to your profile on the main site instead:
Go to your AIDA profile
3. Now, register with your AIDA national organization.
This will be a different process depending on your citizenship. If you are a US citizen, go to:
https://usafreediving.com/membership/
and click "JOIN".

Once you have paid, email:
member@usafreediving.com
and ask them to activate you. Since you put "AIDA USA" in your AIDA profile already, they will be able to find you and activate you right away.

AIDA USA has a helpful FAQ document here.

4. Yay!
Now that you're a member of your AIDA national, you can officially participate in freediving competitions, whether as an athlete, safety, organizer or judge.

If you are participating as an athlete, you can use the link your Organizer provided you to sign up to their event.
